Step 1:
The very first thing you have to do is remove the knobs and the grills from the stove before you go ahead and start cleaning. You can just keep them aside or you could give them a wash so that they too get free from dirt while you clean the stove.
Step 2:
The next step is to remove all kinds of oil, grease, food or salt and pepper that might be sitting on top of the stove. You can just take a wet paper towel or a rag and run it on the surface of the stove to clean it up.
Take a sponge, one with a scrubbing pad is advisable, as this will remove the stuff stuck to the stove. Now you should dip it into some soapy water. The soap solution should have some dish soap, water, and a drop or two of oil. Once the sponge has been drenched, just squeeze the excess water out and you’re good to go.
Step 3:
Getting the food off the stove is the difficult part, so you should concentrate on that first before you move on to the rest of the stove. Take your time and as much soap water as you need on the food stains. Try to rub the food stains away with the scrubbing pad.
Even after the food stains have come off, continue rubbing the entire stove for a few minutes with the sponge.
After Clean-Up Process
Then you should wash the sponge with plain water and use it to get all the soap off the stove. Do it a few times if the foam doesn’t go away entirely at once.
And at the very end, you should use the all-purpose cleaning on a piece of rag to clean up any remains of the soap water on the stove. Once all that is done, all you have to do is put the grill back on top of the stove.
How to Clean a Black Stove Top With Baking Soda
Baking soda is a favorite when it comes to cleaning work. This does an excellent job of removing all stains and stuck-on food from the stove.
The Cleaning Process
Step 1:
Just like it was done in the first method, you are going to have to take the grill, burner, and the knobs off the stove before you start cleaning up. You could keep them submerged in hot water while you clean the stove.
However, if you have a stove which does not allow you to take the burners out, then you can take a wet cloth and gently scrub away the dirt.
Step 2:
Wipe the stove with a paper towel or a small sack towel to get rid of the oil and any lose food substance on the stove. Then you have to apply a thin layer of baking soda on the entire surface of the stove. You can put some extra on the spots that need more cleaning than others.
Step 3:
Now you have to soak a few paper towels with the soap water. You can use the same solution as the one in the previous instructions and use those to cover the stove up for 15-20 minutes. After 20 minutes, just take a damp sponge and rub the stove using it. Use the scrubbing side of the sponge during cleaning.
Step 4:
Next, use some paper towels to clean up the baking soda from the stove. Then you should take a dry rag or piece of old cloth and run over the stove to get rid of any baking soda and soap.
After Clean-Up Process
At the very end just take a microfiber cloth and clean the stove with that. This step is important as sometimes you can see streaks on top of black stoves, and this can easily get rid of those marks.
